Trading Standards
We are working with colleagues in Redcar & Cleveland Council to ensure that all traders comply with relevant legislation, CE certification and trading standards. If you are unsure if any of your goods do not comply or you have any questions please contact us before coming to the event – a question is better than a prosecution!
Please refer to the below link for further trading standards and compliance details.
1. Completion of an Application Form does not guarantee attendance at the event. We will notify you if you have been selected to attend by 31st March 2019 at the latest.
2. SEND NO MONEY NOW. If selected full payment is payable by 30th April 2019. The Festival of Thrift reserves the right to reallocate the stand if payment is not received within the due date.
3. In order to ensure a balance of goods on offer the organisers reserve the right to limit the number of stalls selling each type of goods, so please ensure that you describe your proposed wares fully and fairly. The decision of the Festival of Thrift Organisers regarding stall allocation is non- negotiable.
4. All bookings are accepted on the understanding that stallholders operate solely at their own risk. All traders are responsible for complying with all relevant trading legislations, compliance and CE certification associated with their brand and products.
5. Traders are required to carry their own liability and goods insurance; a copy of which needs to be provided to the organisers on confirmation. Whilst all due precautions are taken, The Festival of Thrift cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to products or persons during the event. On site daytime and overnight security will be provided at the event, but leaving equipment/stock is at your own risk. ALL left equipment & stock must be stored under the stall overnight. Any damage caused by any stallholder, their employees, agents or any other person under their direction to the venue or its fixtures and fittings shall be immediately made at the stallholders expense.
6. All stallholders shall indemnify Festival of Thrift organisers against all liabilities, actions, costs, claims and compensation for injury, loss or damage to any person or property arising as a result of their trading at their event or any act, omission or negligence done or omitted by the stallholder, their employees, agents or any other person under their direction.
7. Stalls must be manned at all times during the festival between 10am–5pm on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019. All traders must ensure the safety of everyone who is associated with their stand and those persons who may be affected by the activities carried out therein.
8. Stallholders may only start to dismantle their stalls after the time notified to them by the event organiser.
9. Stallholders are responsible for the removal of all their rubbish from the site at the end of the event.
10. The Festival of Thrift organisers reserves the right to withdraw products for sale that are not stated on the application form or to close the stall down. In the event of a stall being shut down due to failure to comply with T&C’s, no refund will be given.
11. The Festival of Thrift organisers reserves the right to refuse any stallholder entry to the festival area.
12. At the festival, all stallholders and their staff must comply with directions and instructions issued by Festival of Thrift organisers and the official stewards.
13. By accepting a stall all traders agree to being photographed by Festival of Thrift staff for future publicity purposes for the Festival of Thrift and third party partners.
14. All electrical appliances must be PAT tested or deemed fit for purpose. Exhibitors whose appliances are not PAT tested and/or are considered unsafe will be asked to remove the appliances.
16. Please note: stallholders are NOT permitted to privately re-sell their stall pitch. Any change in stallholder details needs the prior written consent of The Festival of Thrift organisers.
